Our view on professional development
Our people are our greatest asset and people management is a part of the overall approach to organizational improvement and business development.
Professional development refers to knowledge, skills and abilities attained for both personal development and career advancement. Being that people are our greatest asset, professional development through sharing and learning is a part of our ways of working. We are, at all levels, conscious of the need to continuously upgrade our knowledge, skills and abilities. The willingness to learn is of outmost importance.
Each person is in charge of their own professional development. However, we aim to offer the opportunity to progress and grow for those having the determination and potential to develop their capabilities. We encourage all to express objectives and expectations in an open dialogue. It is the responsibility of our leaders to create realistic opportunities for growth as well as guiding and coaching professional development – within the boundaries of financial reality and changing environment.
To facilitate this, individual development plans are developed within the framework of performance development discussions. Having a development plan is an important part of an individual’s career development. The development plan will lay out career objectives and the path to take to achieve them. It will also set up clear expectations between the employee and the immediate manager.
Regardless of whether professional development is within a given role, assignment, becoming a specialist or moving towards a managerial position, we believe that the best indicator for talent is achievement and we are always conscious of acknowledging performance and listen to ambitions.
